Brazilian Sauber academy member disputes Franciacorta round this weekend

Miguel Costa competes this weekend in the last round of Champions of the Future, a karting championship that will close the 2022 season in Franciacorta, Italy. The Brazilian, currently in the group of the top five in the OK Junior class classification, is looking for another good result to finish the championship well and prepare for the final round of the European Karting Championship, also in Italy.

“We go to another race weekend knowing our potential. I am among the top five and I know that I have conditions to advance a little more in the classification. I’m going to Franciacorta with my feet on the ground, thinking session by session to fight for the victory and finish the championship well. It’s a track where I already have experience, so that helps a lot”, says Miguel, who is a driver from Sauber’s academy, linked to Alfa Romeo in Formula 1.

The only Brazilian in the OK Junior class of the Champions of the Future and of the European Karting Championship also highlights that a good result in one round does not necessarily mean a positive result in the other one. Costa, however, emphasizes that a good result in one round will give him courage for the continental competition.

“No doubt that a good result this weekend will be important for the European stage, but we must have the head to think one weekend at a time. I want to have a strong performance in the Champions of the Future to arrive excited and with good prospects for the following week”, completed the Brazilian.

The schedule will be opened on Thursday (23) with free practice and time-taking. Friday will have the first qualifying heats, which will follow on Saturday. Pre-final and final are scheduled for Sunday.
