First round of the championship, which serves as the Open of the continental competition, takes place in Valencia

The 2024 season of the Champions of the Future, one of the main championships in European karting, begins this weekend with the Valencia round in Spain, scheduled for the Lucas Guerrero Karting Circuit. One of the most promising Brazilian drivers in world karting, Miguel Costa is racing in the OK category, the same one he was in last year.

For the championship, which serves as an opener for the round of the European Karting Championship, which will be held in Valencia between March 21 and 24, Miguel hopes to achieve good results and, more than that, seek the best possible preparation for the continental competition.

“I’m excited to start another Champions of the Future. All the top drivers in European karting will be here looking forward for the opening round of the European Kart Championship, scheduled for the end of the month. We’re going to develop over the weekend in order to get a good result,” said Miguel, who is still racing the Parolin kart this season.

The activities began on Wednesday and will continue on Thursday, which is also reserved for the time trial and the first qualifying heats. Friday will see the completion of qualifying, while Saturday will feature the pre-final and the deciding round.

“We made a good start on the first day, we’re heading in the right direction, but we still have room to improve. I raced a KZ in the first WSK rounds of the year, but I’m happy to be able to drive an OK kart again in such an important championship,” adds Miguel.

In addition to the Valencia round, the Champions of the Future will visit four other karting venues in Europe, in France, Slovakia, Sweden and England. In the first four rounds, the championship will serve as an Open for the European Kart Championship, and in the final round, the Open will be valid for the World Championship.
