Miguel Costa’s first race after moving from karting to formula racing will be this weekend, in Jerez, Spain. The Campos Racing driver participated in several pre-season tests and has quickly adapted to the car during this period of professional transition. Miguel’s debut will be in the F4 Spanish Winter Championship (SWC).
“We have had a lot of work to do since we announced this change and have prepared very well for this first F4 race. Last week I tested in Barcelona and we continued to improve, so my expectations for the debut are very high”, says Miguel.
The SWC is the main preparatory championship for the Spanish F4 season. In addition to the opening in Jerez, the winter competition will also pass through Portimão (Portugal), Navarra and Aragón until the last weekend of March.
“I am happy to be able to make my debut at Jerez, a circuit that is so iconic for motorsports and has hosted Formula 1 races, including a victory for my idol Ayrton Senna. I hope to start the training sessions well, try to have good races and continue accumulating mileage for my first F4 season”, says Miguel.
The F4 training sessions in Jerez will be held this Friday (7) with two sessions of two hours each. The schedule continues on Saturday with the qualifying, starting at 5:00 am. On the same day, race 1 will be held at 7:20 am and the Sprint race at 9:50 am. Sunday is scheduled for a new qualifying session at 5:00 am, followed by race 2 at 7:50 am (Brasília time). Both races will last 30 minutes plus one lap, while the Sprint race will last 20 minutes plus one lap.
