Young Brazilian talent in international karting, Miguel Costa competed in the World Karting Championship this weekend and closed the competition in Spain with top-10 among the 101 drivers entered in the OK Junior category.
“We had a great learning, we are ending the year on a high and finishing the championship as the best Brazilian in the World Championship in all categories. I’m happy, proud of our work and now let’s celebrate. We could have been in the top-10 all year and our focus will be to fight for titles in the next tournaments”, says Miguel, who is a driver of the Sauber Karting Team.
Miguel had a good performance in the qualifying races, with highlight to the third place achieved in one of Saturday’s heats. In the final race, held on Sunday, Miguel showed great evolution by starting 27th before finishing in the top-10 in Campillos.
“We started fifth in the last qualifying and we were flying in these wet track conditions with slick tyres. The back of my go-kart was touched when I was trying to take the lead and that took away my chance to start in a better position in the final. If we had started in the top 10, for sure we could have fought for the victory in the final”, concludes Miguel.
After two weeks of competitions in Spain, Miguel will come back to the World Series Karting between November 18 and 21 at the Adria track in Italy.
