Miguel Costa was one of the highlights of the third round of the WSK Super Master, held last weekend at the karting track of La Conca, in Italy. In a race marked by rain, the Brazilian driver stood out with recovery races and managed to get another top-10, by finishing the OK Junior class final in ninth position.
In the qualifying heats, Costa secured two fifth places, even after a less than ideal starting time. In the decisive stage, the driver, member of Sauber’s academy, overtook nine competitors to finish with the ninth position in La Conca.
“The qualifying could have been better, as I was hindered and only had one clean lap. But I secured two fifth places. In the decision, I started 18th and I had the pace to finish on the podium, but I had a problem with my carburetor. Even so, I finished ninth. For everything that happened in the round, I think it was a good result, although we really expected a podium, given the potential that I and the team showed in this track”, said Miguel.
The Brazilian driver finishes a marathon of three consecutive weekends of racing next weekend. Costa closes the WSK Super Masters season by racing at Sarno, also in Italy. Practice sessions start on Thursday (10), and continue on Friday. Saturday will feature qualifying heats, while Sunday will see the final races.
