Promising Brazilian highlight in the main karting competitions in the world, Miguel Costa ended the 2021 season with very promising results, even though this was his first season in the OK Junior category, in which drivers between 12 and 14 years old participate.
“It was a year in which we were growing as we faced the most important championships. We competed against great drivers, but we quickly showed that we can be fast and fight for the first positions as we did in the World Karting Championship in Spain”, says Miguel, who won several titles in the United States before moving on to European karting.
Member of the Sauber Karting Team, a program of young talents linked to the Alfa Romeo F1 team, Miguel has attracted attention for his quick adaptation and development in one of the most competitive categories in the world and against drivers from several countries.
“This year was a lot of news: debut in the CIK-FIA World Championship, debut in the European Championship and also in the WSK OKJ category, the three greatest championships in the world. My goal for 2022 is to follow this evolution and fight for victories in all of these competitions,” says Miguel, who was rookie champion of the Italian Kart in 2019.
This week Miguel focuses on the last training sessions of the season in Italy and the main goal is on preparing for the WSK Champions Cup, which opens the 2022 season on January 23 at the Adria track.
