A highlight in the virtual championships in recent months, Miguel Costa, a young driver of just 11 years old, won in Nurburgring in a F3 tournament of the Virtual Challenge. Champion among the rookies of the Italian Karting Championship in 2019, the member of the Sauber Karting Team triumphed in the second race after having also conquered a podium in the first race of the double round.
“I am very happy with that victory in the second race. I started in eighth with the grid inversion after being third in the first race and managed to jump to fifth right in the first lap and went forward. When I was in second, I thought it would be very difficult to get to Nathan (Brito), but I accelerated a lot, I reached him in the end and overtook him”, says Miguel, who is the youngest Brazilian to participate in an international pilots academy connected with an F1 team, Alfa Romeo.
Miguel Costa was the great revelation among the young drivers of the Virtual Challenge of the Stars, which had great drivers of Brazilian motorsport, such as Felipe Massa, Rubens Barrichello and the brothers Enzo and Pietro Fittipaldi.
After several achievements in the virtual championships, Miguel now focuses on his return to the go-karting competitions in Europe.
“This good virtual result certainly motivates me even more to fight for karting victories. I want to return well with the Kart Republic team in Europe and I will train a lot in the coming weeks to return well to WSK, which is our main championship ”, adds Miguel, who is sponsored by Baked Potato and Participa,
Miguel’s next face-to-face challenge will be at the World Series Karting, which will return between June 29th and July 5th in Adria, Italy.
