April 21, 2021Brazilian driver was seventh in the Pre-Final of the WSK Euro Series in Lonato and valued his good driving phase in Europe; fourth and final round of the WSK Super Master Series will take place between April 21st and 25th at the Lonato circuit in Italy
Last weekend, Sauber Karting Team member Miguel Costa competed in the opening round of the WSK Euro Series in Lonato, Italy, and again stood out in the OK Junior category. The Brazilian driver was seventh in the Pre-Final after gaining 15 positions and valued his good driving phase in Europe.
“We had some consistent tests at this WSK round in Lonato and I believe that we are improving even more. It was a very productive stage and a lot of learning. It is just my debut year at OK Junior and we are already achieving good results, I hope that the first podium and the first victory will come soon. We are going to work for that”, says Miguel, who also finished the OK Junior Final in 11th out of 34 riders who started.
The young driver also conquered two top-10 and one top-5 in the qualifying heats of WSK Euro Series opening round, which reaffirms the good moment on the track after a third place in the Pre-Final of the Super Master Series in Sarno, at the end March. Just last month, Miguel also featured in La Conca, where he got a second place in the Pre-Final and finished the stage with a top-5 in the Final.
With an eye on WSK’s Super Master Series last round, which will also happen at the Lonato circuit, the Brazilian believes that the fact of having two stages in a row on the same track should be productive for most of the drivers in the OK Junior category.
“As it is my first year in this category, it is very important to have a good track time so that I can continue to adapt quickly. This must be very important for me in the last stage of the Super Master Series in Lonato, but all the drivers should also be faster due to the rounds in sequence on the same track, so we are going to try to correct some things to keep improving and who knows seek a podium”, says Miguel, who had a year of many achievements in the X30 Junior category in 2020, in which he finished several races in the top-5 and top-10.
With the chassis of Kart Republic in kart #321 and support from Baked Potato and Participa, Miguel will return to the WSK for the fourth and final stage of the Super Master Series between April 21st and 25th at the Lonato circuit, in Italy.
