A young talent in international karting, Brazilian Miguel Costa played in the last leg of the 2019 WSK, which took place last weekend in Adria, Italy. The rider was highlighted by finishing the competition in 10th place among the 96 riders in his category. Miguel took three top-10 finishes in qualifying, with a sixth place finish, and returned to the top 10 in the final after starting from 22nd in the decisive race. Young Brazilian driver Miguel Costa made his debut at the Castelletto track in Italy, a stage valid by WSK, one of the world's leading kart championships. Running in the Mini category, the Brazilian driver faced several weather changes throughout the stage, taking wet and dry asphalt, and valued the five top-five he won over the weekend.
“It was a busy weekend: the track was wet many times and in some races it was dry. So being a new circuit for me, I believe our results were good, especially with the seventh place in the Prefinal”, says Costa, who was in the top-10 on all qualifying heats.

The best drivers in the world of karting are back in action this weekend in Castelletto, Italy, where the WSK Open Cup will be held. In the Mini category, from 9 to 12 years old, one of the highlights is the Brazilian Miguel Costa, who called attention in Europe for its quick adaptation to the championships that bring together a world kart elite.
The young driver competes for the official Kart Republic team, led by experienced Italian coach Dino Chiesa, responsible for successful karting careers such as Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, the last two F1 world champions.

The rain-filled raceday appeared to be in the hands of Miguel Costa after qualifying, as he scored the pole by more than two tenths of a second over Max Garcia, Jakub Kolar, and Matias Orjuela. However, a drying track is always a challenge for drivers, especially the leader. Costa found himself to be on the harsh end of this lesson when he came in too hot into turn 4 on the opening lap and made heavy contact with the outside barriers, forcing an early exit from the Pre Final. This opened the door for Kolar to slip through to the lead, making the more cautious decision to stay on rain tires.
