The driver, the main name of the country racing in the OK Junior class in the European karting, won races, started from the pole position in four races and was always among the fastest throughout the stage, being one of the highlights of the competition.
The driver from Sauber’s academy, linked to Alfa Romeo in Formula 1, was the second fastest in qualifying among 81 drivers. Then, he won one of the heats, as well as obtaining a second, a third and a fifth place. Even starting later in the pre-final due to an engine failure, Costa was seventh. Finally, in the decisive race, Miguel was the top-10 driver who gained more positions in the final and finished in the sixth position after starting 12th.
“It was a sin the engine breakdown in the qualifying heats, because I am sure that I would fight for the podium or even for the victory in the final, when we would start further ahead. But I leave the weekend happy, because we have race pace and were able to ride strong and win races. This gives me a good expectation for the World Karting Championship”, said Miguel, after the closing of the activities in Sarno.
“I’m going to the World Cup with high expectations, since the championship will also be held here in Sarno.
