September 21, 2022Even with test equipment, the Brazilian driver puts on a show in the rain at Sarno, on the Italian track that will host the World Karting Championship from September 15 to 18
Young Brazilian highlight in international karting, Miguel Costa was one of the great names of the World Karting Open held in Sarno, last weekend, at the circuit that will host the main karting competition in September. Competing for Kart Republic and with test equipment, Miguel was fourth in the OK Junior final, driving on slick tires in the rain.
“It was a very difficult stage for us because I felt we lacked a little speed on the straight, even half a second, but even so I didn’t give up on doing my job. We went from P25 to P12 in the pre-final and in the final I managed to move up from P12 to fourth place. I love driving in the rain and this was a positive test for us to be ready for the Karting World Cup in two weeks”, says Miguel, who is part of the young talents team of Sauber, linked with the Alfa Romeo F1 team.
In 2021, Miguel finished the Karting World Cup in the top-10, being this the best Brazilian result in the year. For 2022, even more experienced and accelerating at a circuit he has been competing at for several years, Miguel arrives excited to fight for OK Junior Title
“I really like this track a lot, it was one of my best weekends in Europe because of the difficulty we faced with the kart and the many overtaking maneuvers we did, so now we will make the necessary adjustments and get back to training this Wednesday with total focus on the World Cup,” adds Miguel, who is supported by Baked Potato and Participa.
The World Karting Championship in Sarno, in the Naples region, will be held between September 15 and 18.
