The Champions of the Future will have this weekend its third round, scheduled for the kart track of Kristianstad, in Sweden. Driver of the OK Junior class, Miguel Costa seeks to keep the good performance shown in the last round of the tournament, held in April, in Spain, when he won the fifth position.
“I come from a great result in the last round, where I could show all my potential and win batteries and I was in the front all the time. Now, in Sweden, the goal is to maintain this performance, and fight not only to be among the best, but also for the victory,” says Miguel, who is a driver from Sauber’s academy.
The Champions of the Future, in the current season, works as an open of the European Karting Championship, since both tournaments run in the same karting tracks. As a result, Costa will use this weekend’s round as a preparation for the continental tournament, which will be held on the Swedish track, scheduled for June 2-5.
“We are going to the Champions stage looking for good results, but also thinking about the preparation for the European Karting stage, which is our goal in this first semester. A good performance this week represents a good start for the continental championship”, completed the Brazilian driver, who has top-5 this year also in the WSK Super Masters.
The schedule at Kristianstad starts on Thursday (19), with the first free practice sessions. On Friday, there will be more practice sessions and the take-off, while Saturday is reserved for the qualifying heats. The pre-final and final are scheduled for Sunday.
