Miguel Costa shines in Spain, wins heats and secures top-5 in Champions of the Future

Miguel Costa leaves for the second round of the European Karting Championship, scheduled for this weekend at the Zuera kart track in Spain, optimistic about his chances of winning. Such expectation is due to the performance shown two weeks ago, when the driver finished the Champions of the Future round in the same circuit with the fifth place in the OK Junior class.
On that occasion, Costa was one of the strongest names of the weekend at the Spanish kart track. Besides being fast in practice and qualifying, the Brazilian was victorious in three of the five qualifying heats, besides getting a second place and another top-10, before finishing the final race in fifth. Even with his recent record, the driver keeps his feet on the ground.
“I had a performance that was satisfactory at Champions of the Future. I fought for the stage win and had pace the whole time. This gives us the best expectations for this round of the European Karting Championship. But I also know that it is another competition and we start from scratch, but I want to keep the good momentum of the season this weekend,” says Miguel, driver from Sauber’s academy.
The schedule at the 1,699-meter circuit will open on Thursday (28), the day the first practice sessions are scheduled. Qualifying and the first qualifying heats will follow until Saturday. The pre-final and final round are scheduled for Sunday, and can be viewed via the CIK FIA YouTube channel.
