A member of the Sauber Karting Team, young Miguel Costa guaranteed his best result in a virtual race with a podium in the F1 Mania Pro eSports Race. Great revelation in the virtual competitions he has been competing in, the young driver of 11 years old was the third in race 2 in the stage of Barcelona and finished the double round with the fourth overall position. With the result, Miguel became the youngest driver to conquer a podium in a virtual competition with professional drivers in Brazil.

“I was very happy with my first podium. In the first race, I started in 14th place and had an excellent recovery to reach sixth. I also led the second race, so I'm really happy. I believe that we are on the right path of evolution and I hope to win soon, who knows in the next few weeks ”, says Costa, who will compete in the last stage of the Virtual Challenge of the Stars this Wednesday (13th), starting at 8 pm (Brasília time).

Member of the Sauber Karting Team, Miguel is the youngest Brazilian driver to participate in an Academy of Drivers connected with an F1 team, Alfa Romeo. The pilot has taken advantage of the period without competitions at the karting tracks to participate in several virtual championships.

In the Virtual Challenge of the Stars, Miguel is in seventh place with 38 points, just 11 points behind the vice-leader, which is Dudu Barrichello. Young revelation of the competition, Miguel was also a highlight in the last stage with the fourth place won in one of the events and reaches the final with chances to fight for the vice-championship. The Virtual Challenge of the Stars has already had more than 50 different names on the grid.

“The championship is wide open and I really want to win in this last stage. The grid has great drivers, but I am very focused to score as much as possible and finish the tournament among the first ones. We are going in with everything ”, says Costa, who is the current Italian Karting champion among the rookies

The last stage of the Virtual Challenge of the Stars takes place at 8 pm on Wednesday (13) and will be broadcasted live on YouTube on Acelerados, F1 Mania, High Speed, Motorsport.com and BandSports channels. The replay of the stage is still shown on TV, at BandSports, at 8:30 am next Sunday.
