October 29, 2020Young Brazilian driver fought for the leadership and, after a touch, managed to recover to finish the decisive race in eighth place this Sunday; Miguel Costa’s next challenge will be in the last stage of the Italian Karting Championship
Miguel Costa, a member of the Sauber Karting Team, raced last Sunday (18) at the grand final of the ROK SuperFinal, a world-class championship that was held at the Franciacorta Karting Track, in Italy. The young driver started in seventh position, quickly went up to fourth and reached second place during the race, but suffered a slight touch that took him out of the race for victory. Even so, Miguel had a good recovery and managed to finish the race in eighth place.
“It is difficult to explain my feelings, I had everything to win the ROK World Championship for the first time in the Junior category. After a very good start, I went on the attack and got the second place, then looking for the first place. I was thrown out, dropped to tenth and came in eighth. But as I always say, I don’t lose, I learn”, said Miguel after the race.
One of the young stars of the ROK SuperFinal, Miguel continues on the Sauber young talent development program, linked with the F1 Alfa Romeo team. The 11-year-old remains motivated for his next challenges in this final stretch of the season.
“Now we will have the last round of the Italian Karting Championship and we are going in search of victory. Thanks to everyone who always supports me and I will win titles and victories for everyone who supports me”, adds Miguel, who uses the Kart Republic chassis and has the support of Baked Potato and Participa.
The Italian Karting Championship will hold its last round this weekend in Castelletto, between the 23rd and 25th of October.
