One of the highlights of brazilian karting abroad, Miguel Costa secured a top-10 finish in the third round of the European Kart Championship, held last weekend at the Slovak Kart Centre in Slovakia. The Parolin driver finished the final race in Eastern Europe in ninth place in the OK class, making him the best Brazilian in the competition.
Miguel’s weekend in Orechová Potôň began with fifth place in the qualifying session. In the qualifying heats, the Brazilian continued to show his strength, collecting two fourth places and a fifth as his best results. On Sunday, Costa was third in the super heat and secured ninth place in the final.
“The weekend started promisingly and we qualified well, as we did in the qualifying races. I started from seventh place in the pre-final and secured third place, already running on used tyres. In the final, they changed the side of the start, with the first driver starting on the outside. It was a difficult start, but I finished with a top-10. But I’m proud of the stage,” said Miguel.
Brazilian driver will now focus his efforts on the first of three rounds of the European Kart Championship for drivers in the KZ category, which opens its season between 4th and 7th July at Motorland Aragón, a karting track located in the Spanish city of Alcaniz.
