In constant evolution in European karting, the member of the Sauber Karting Team performed well in training and in the qualifying heats of the tournament, including a third place in one of the heats. Despite the lack of luck in the final, Miguel valued the evolution among the older drivers.
“It is very likely that we would have finished on the podium if I hadn’t been crashed on the final when I started in seventh. Our race pace was very good and we are improving a lot. I believe it will be very important for my career to race among the older drivers, I am learning a lot from them. We will continue to work in search of victories here in Italy ”, says Miguel, who also raced on several stages in the World Series Karting (WSK) in Europe, one of the main karting championships in the world.
Younger brazilian in the main European karting competitions, Miguel is part of the young talents of the Sauber Karting Team, which has a partnership with the F1 Alfa Romeo team. Now in a new category, the young Brazilian seeks a quick adaptation and continues to prepare with focus on competing in the World Karting Championship in Brazil in 2021.
This Wednesday, Miguel starts another journey at the Italian Karting Championship, which will have its first round in Triscina, Sicily. In 2019, the young Brazilian was the champion among the debutants of the Italian Karting in the Micro category.
“I am already in Triscina and tomorrow I will be on the track for the opening training of the Italian Karting. I’m really excited because I was a rookie champion last year and I’m confident that we’ll be back on the podium soon, maybe with a victory ”, adds Miguel, who accelerates for Kart Republic and has the support of Baked Potato and Participa.
The track activities of the opening of the Italian Karting Championship in Triscina will start on Wednesday and the Junior category Final will take place on Sunday.
