One of the Brazilian motor sport talents abroad, Miguel Costa is getting ready to race this weekend in the opening round of the Champions of the Future, a tournament that serves as the “open” round of the European Karting Championship, the main competition that the driver will compete in this first semester. The opening round will be held this weekend in Valencia, Spain, and will mark the debut in the second tournament of the year for the Brazilian driver, who races in the OK class.
As a preparation, Costa competed last weekend the third round of the WSK Super Masters, in Sarno, a kart track located in Italy. Still adapting to the equipment of his new team, Parolin, and also to the OK class, the Brazilian showed an evolution, running close to the top-10 in all heats and securing the ninth place in the super heat. In the final, Miguel started from 24th and climbed six positions to be 18th.
“We are progressing and, obviously, we are not where we would like to be yet. But we have a lot of potential. In the pre-final, I got the second best lap and finished 9th after starting 13th. We are on the right track and I am sure that we will get there with a lot of work,” said Miguel, after the end of the round.
After the passage through Italy, the driver will race on Thursday (9), in the Valencia round of the Champions of the Future. The final races at the Lucas Guerrero kart track will be held on Sunday. The championship will also go through Trinec, in the Czech Republic, Rodby, in Denmark, and Cremona, in Italy. As for the WSK Super Masters, the last round will be held on April 30, also in Cremona.
