March 10, 2021Miguel Costa races in WSK Super Master’s penultimate round in Sarno
March 24, 2021At just 12 years old and racing among drivers of up to 14, Miguel stole the show in just his third OK Junior category round
A young talent from the Sauber Karting Team, linked with the Alfa Romeo F1 team, Miguel Costa had a weekend of good results in the second round of the WSK Super Master Series in La Conca, Italy. The Brazilian conquered a second place in the Pre-Final and finished the final race in fifth.
The WSK (World Series Karting) is one of the main championships in the world and it was only Miguel’s third round racing in the OK Junior category.
“I am very happy with the progress we have demonstrated at this round in La Conca. We were growing well in the races, I stayed well concentrated and managed to overtake, so today’s result shows that we are on the right path to fight for victories”, says Miguel, who is 12 years old and accelerates against competitors of up to 14 years old.
Miguel was in six races over the weekend and finished four of them in the top-5. His best performance was in the Pre-Final, when he started in sixth and closed in second place. In all the categories that he has accelerated, since his first karting competitions, Miguel shows the potential to fight among the leaders. A proof of this was the Italian Karting Championship rookie title in 2019.
“Today I fought hard for the podium and my expectation is that in the next rounds I will do even better, we had a lot of potential to be among the top-3 here in La Conca. The chassis of Kart Republic is very well adjusted, so I’m sure that with this good equipment, combined with the work of the Sauber Karting Team, I will grow a lot in the OK Junior category”, says Miguel.
Miguel returns to compete in the third WSK Super Master Series round between March 24th and 28th in Sarno, Italy.
