October 2, 2023World Karting Championship: Miguel Costa finishes in the world’s top 20 and is close to top-5 in Franciacorta
October 11, 2023The competition will be held at the Franciacorta Karting Circuit, and will mark the brazilian’s debut in the OK category, the championship’s main category.
This weekend will be one of the most important for kart competitors all over the world. Between Thursday and Sunday, the Franciacorta Karting Circuit will host the World Karting Championship, and Miguel Costa is very excited about taking part, his first time competing in the OK category, the main category of the competition.
In 2021, “Guel” finished among the top-10 drivers in the world in the OK Junior class, while last year, in the same class, the brazilian performed well, especially in the qualifying heats. More experienced and fully adapted to Parolin’s equipment, Costa is looking for a place on the podium this weekend.
“Our preparation has been very good throughout the year, and it gives us confidence that we can have a great World Championship. Franciacorta is a track where our kart works well and I’m excited for what will be my main commitment this season. We’re going to fight, activity after activity, to put in a great performance and fight for the top spots,” says Miguel.
Practice will open on Thursday and continue on Friday, when the qualifying heats and times will also take place. Saturday will determine the drivers who will go on to the finals, with the pre-final and final scheduled for Sunday. The World Karting YouTube channel shows live on-track action.
