Brazilian Miguel Costa stood out in the first round of the WSK Euro Series, the championship that opened at the Franciacorta karting track in Italy. Racing in the OK category, the driver performed well, finishing in the top 5 in most of the heats held at the venue that will host the World Karting Championship in October.
Miguel was third fastest in his group in qualifying, and had the eighth best time out of all 76 drivers who took part in the round. In three of the five qualifying heats, the Parolin team driver came fifth, and always finished in the top ten.
In the pre-final, “Guel” came fifth again, securing 11th place on the grid for the deciding round. In the decisive race, the Brazilian finished 13th. The driver highlighted yet another opportunity to race at the venue that will host the most important competition of the year.
“We had a good pace all weekend and, even though the result of the final wasn’t what we would have liked, it was good to have another chance to race in Franciacorta. I’m getting better and better prepared for the World Championship and we’ve shown once again that we’re going to challenge for the title next month,” said Miguel after the race.
The next round of the WSK Euro Series will take place between November 2nd and 5th at the Sarno kart track, also in Italy.
