A member of the Sauber Karting Team, young Miguel Costa raced in stages 3 and 4 of the WSK Super Master last weekend in Adria, Italy, standing out with a show of overtaking on the Italian circuit. Champion among the rookies in the 2019's Italian Karting, the Brazilian driver gained 14 positions in the Final played on Sunday (05) after starting in 29th place, finishing in the top-15.
“Our racing pace is very good, a pity that the qualifying result forced us to start at the back of the grid in all qualifiers. I gained more than 40 positions adding to the qualifying races, so I bring a lot of learning to Sarno next week. We will work with the Sauber Karting Team and Kart Republic to fight for victory again ”, says Miguel, who also won two top-10 in the knockout rounds of the WSK stage 3.
Miguel is part of Sauber's young talents, who have even increased their development program by announcing new drivers to compete in single-seater categories in partnership with Alfa Romeo, the F1 team. The driver competes in the Mini category and is the youngest Brazilian in the main kart competitions in Europe at just 11 years old.
“I was very happy to be competing in Europe again after almost four months without racing. I am well prepared for the sequence of competitions here in Italy with this great sequence of competitions that we will have in the second half ”, says Miguel, who has the support of Baked Potato and Participates.
Track activities for the first stage of the WSK Euro Series begin this Wednesday at the Sarno circuit in Italy. The Mini Finals are scheduled for Sunday and will define the champions of the stage.
