11 year old Brazilian pilot valued his work with Sauber and believes that 2021 will be a year of evolution; last race of the year will be at the 25th edition of the Ayrton Senna Trophy, traditional Italian competition, which will take place between December 11th and 13th in Sarno, Italy

Young talent Miguel Costa featured in two days of testing with the Sauber Karting Team earlier this week in Adria, Italy. With an eye on the upcoming season, in which the Brazilian driver will rise to the OK Junior category, Miguel valued his work with Sauber and believes that 2021 will be a year of evolution.

“The tests were fantastic, we were very fast in both days. Because I am two years younger than the other boys, I still lack a little physical strength, but I believe it is the only thing that sets us apart from the older drivers. We are preparing very well for next year and we are very confident to move up to the OK Junior category in 2021”, says Miguel, who uses the Kart Republic chassis and is supported by Baked Potato and Participa.

Miguel continues on Sauber’s young talent development program, linked to the F1 Alfa Romeo team. In his first season in the X30 Junior category, still among older drivers, the Brazilian driver, just 11 years old, won several top-5 and top-10 in Italy, in addition to finishing the Italian Kart in seventh place in the championship.

In the final stretch of the season, Miguel will face the last challenge of the year on the tracks next week in Sarno.

“So this week’s tests were very good and I believe that we showed everyone that we have a lot of potential. The last race of the year is next week, at the Ayrton Senna Trophy, a race with a lot of tradition in Sarno. It will be our last race at the X30 Júnior and we are going with everything to close this cycle with a flourish”, adds Miguel.

The 25th edition of the Ayrton Senna Trophy, a traditional Italian competition, will take place between December 11th and 13th, at the Napoli International Circuit, in Sarno.
