Member of the Sauber Karting Team, young Miguel Costa values the opportunity to accelerate virtual F3 cars; three remaining stages of the SIM Racing Karters Championship are scheduled for the next few days
International F3 virtual tournament focusing on WSK kartists, the SIM Racing Karters Championship will have its final stage this Sunday (12). With three stages remaining, the championship has 70 registered drivers of 20 different nationalities and simulates races on eight of the main tracks of world motorsport, including with Interlagos.
“It is a very important tournament for all drivers and it is also a lot of fun. This moment that we are going through is complicated and a championship like this helps us to keep up the pace with competition during the quarantine, in addition to being a preparation for the F3 tournaments, one of the cars that I intend to drive on the track in a few years”, says Costa.
Italian kart champion among the rookies in 2019, Miguel believes that the simulator greatly helps competitors in any category. The driver is the youngest Brazilian representative in an international academy connected with an F1 team (Alfa Romeo).
“Work can never stop, I am focused on preparing myself to the maximum while the race schedule does not return. The simulator is the best way out for a driver who needs to stay at home and after that period I hope to return stronger than ever, fighting for victories in karting in Italy”, says Miguel.
The young driver had his first years of karting competing in the USA, winning several competitions in Florida. Miguel also accumulated good results at the World Kart ROK in 2018 and 2019, the year he also started competing in Italy.
The remaining three stages of the SIM Racing Karters Championship are scheduled for the next few days. This Thursday (9), the sixth stage of the tournament will be at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, while the penultimate stage will take place on Saturday (11) at the Sebring circuit (USA). The final will be on Sunday (12th) at Silverstone.
