AFTER HIS ROOKIE WIN, MIGUEL COSTA MAKES HIS F4 DEBUT IN ARAGON.
March 26, 2025Campos Racing driver shows strength, especially in Sunday’s races, and finishes the opening round with two fourth places and fifth among the category’s rookies
Brazilian Miguel Costa secured two top-5 finishes among the Rookies drivers in the first round of the 2025 F4 Spain season, held at MotorLand in Aragón this weekend. The Campos Racing showed driver speed throughout the round and secured two fourth-place finishes among the competitors making their first year in the category. What’s more, the owner of the number 5 car also scored points in the overall championship table.
After showing good pace on Friday, Miguel had a Saturday of overcoming. After being eighth on the track after starting tenth, the driver was later penalized. On Sunday, with new tires, the Brazilian placed fourth among the Rookies and seventh overall in race 2, and secured the second best lap of the race. In race 3, a stalled car at the start hindered him, but the driver still managed another fourth place among the Rookies and ninth overall.
“We’re definitely among the fastest. I was confident because we had a set of new tires for Sunday. Race 2 was perfect, going from 13th to seventh overall and fourth among the Rookies. I made a good start in race 3, but a stalled car got in my way. There was a Safety Car and I saved myself from being penalized for track limits. I finished fourth among the Rookies and ninth overall. I was disappointed with Saturday, but the positive points are that we showed a lot of speed and we’re learning fast,” said Miguel Costa.
After the first round of the championship in Aragón, the Brazilian from Campos Racing is in fifth position among the Rookies, with six points. This puts Miguel Costa in 12th place overall in the standings after the first of seven triple-headers scheduled for the 2025 F4 Spain season.
The 2025 F4 Spain season will continue between May 2nd and 4th, when the category will visit the Navarra circuit. At this track at the beginning of the year, Miguel Costa took second place on the podium during the Spanish Winter Championship, a tournament aimed at preparing for the Spanish Formula 4 Championship season.
