Miguel Costa makes his F4 debut in Jerez with Campos Racing
February 7, 2025Brazilian driver wins two third places in the rookie category in the opening round of the SWC in Jerez
Miguel Costa’s first race in cars after leaving karting was more than special for the Brazilian driver in Jerez, Spain. The youngster, just 15 years old, won his first podium in his debut with an F4, in the race that opened the Spanish Winter Championship (SWC), considered the pre-season competition for the Spanish F4.
The opening round also had two more races, the Sprint, where Miguel once again climbed onto the podium among the rookies and also finished sixth overall, and race 2 in which the Campos Racing driver finished fourth among the rookies.
“I’m very happy with these first F4 podiums. It’s still just the beginning of a long road, but it was important to see how the team started the year in a very strong way. I believe we have the potential to continue growing significantly throughout the competition,” says Miguel, who finished the three races in the top 10 overall.
A standout performer in the main European karting championships in recent years, Miguel will make his transition to single-seaters in 2025. The driver will compete in the full season of the Spanish F4, and the SWC is the main championship to prepare for the rest of the year.
“I believe that with two or three more races we will be even more competitive and prepared with all the procedures that an F4 car requires of a driver. I faced opponents who are already in their second year of F4, so this gives me great confidence that we will have the potential and conditions to compete for victories soon,” says Miguel.
The next round of the SWC will be held between February 21 and 23 at the Autódromo do Algarve, in Portimão.
