Back in Italy, young driver seeks new trophies in an exciting phase of his career; Track activities for WSK Super Master's second round will start this Thursday (20) and the Finals of all categories will happen on Sunday (23)

Victorious in his first stage in the USA with the Sauber Karting Team, young Miguel Costa will compete in WSK Super Master's stage this weekend, in Lonato, Italy. The youngest Brazilian representative in an international pilots' academy, the pilot is focused after a podium and a victory in the last stage of the SKUSA Winter Series, important American karting tournament.

“We returned to Italy last weekend and I was already able to visit my friends. Now, it's a lot of homework and waiting for the first WSK training session, which will take place on Wednesday. We are training a lot and I hope to win in Lonato, it is a circuit that I like a lot”, says Miguel, 2019 Italian Karting Rookie Champion. Miguel had his first years in karting competing in the United States, winning competitions in Miami, Florida. The driver also piled up good results at the World Kart ROK in 2018 and 2019, the year he moved to Europe to compete in Italy.

In January, the 10-year-old driver was hired to be part of the Sauber Karting Team, linked to the Alfa Romeo F1 team. Back in Europe after SKUSA’s stage, the Brazilian is the youngest driver to have this type of link in a talent development program linked to a team in F1.

“Now Costa is looking for new trophies at an exciting stage in his career. “I am very happy to be a driver for the Sauber Karting Team and I have already seen that the structure of the team is mindblowing. This will definitely help me a lot to do well at races and the main objective is to take some trophies home. We are going in with everything”, says Costa, who competes in the Mini category.
