The WSK Open Series has its final round this weekend, scheduled for the La Conca karting track in Italy, and will feature brazilian Miguel Costa as one of the attractions on its grid. The driver is turning his attention to the KZ category after racing in the second round of the European Kart Championship in France, in the OK category, and has high expectations for the round.
In the first round of the championship, held in Franciacorta, Miguel collected top-10 finishes in the qualifying heats and fought for a top result in the deciding race that opened the WSK Open Series, which featured 82 competitors. For La Conca, the Parolin driver hopes to put in a good performance to fight for a place on the podium.
“We had a good pace and a satisfactory performance in the first round of the championship. Now, in La Conca, we’re going to work with our feet on the ground to have that same performance and be able to convert it into a positive result, maybe a podium,” said Miguel Costa, who is in his first year racing in the KZ category.
The free practice sessions continue until Thursday, when there will also be a time trial and the first qualifying heats. Friday is reserved for the heats, while Saturday will feature the pre-final and the final of the La Conca round of the WSK Open Series.
