Miguel Costa fights for victory in his second Spanish F4 race in Portimão
February 25, 2025The driver achieved two podiums in his F4 debut in Jerez and is looking for other good results in the second stage of the SWC in Portimão
One of Brazil’s great promises for the F4 season, Miguel Costa will be racing this weekend in the second round of the Spanish Winter Championship (SWC), a preparatory championship for the Spanish F4. The challenge will be at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, in Portimão, and Miguel is riding high after his first two podiums in the rookie class achieved with the Campos Racing team, in Jerez.
“I’m really excited about this round in Portimão. I’ve raced a few times at the go-kart track next to the racetrack, so for me it’s a dream come true to be able to race the F4 on this track that is considered very technical and challenging by all drivers,” says Miguel, about the 4,653-meter track with 16 curves.
Miguel began his career in single-seaters in 2025, achieving two third places among rookies in the SWC, in addition to finishing in the top 10 overall in the three races in Jerez, including a sixth place in one of them. The driver intends to continue improving during this period before the opening of the Spanish F4, scheduled for March 29 and 30 at MotorLand.
“We had many positive things to take from the first race in Jerez and we are taking them to Portimão. We know where we can continue to improve and we are going to look for more podiums and who knows, our first victory”, says Miguel.
The first official training sessions in Portimão will be held this Friday (21). The weekend is expected to feature two races and a Sprint race.
