Brazilian finishes 11th in Cremona and completes preparation for the final round of the European Karting Championship, also scheduled for Cremona
One of the names of the new generation of kart racers in Brazil, Miguel Costa performed well in the final round of the Champions of the Future, held this weekend at the Cremona kart track in Italy. Seeking the best preparation for the European Karting Championship, which will run in the same place, the driver stood out for the strong pace demonstrated throughout the weekend, which ended with the 11th place in the OK division.
Parolin’s driver was the fourth fastest of his group in the time trial, which placed him tenth fastest overall. In the qualifying heats, a fourth place was his best result, as well as two fifth places and an eighth place. In the pre-final, Costa was 11th, a position he repeated in the decider.
“I had a good performance at the weekend. I secured fourth place in the time trial, which could have been a pole position if a competitor had not escaped from the track in front of me. I had an accident in one of the qualifiers, and we tested many things looking for the finals and the European Karting Championship. In the final, the kart lacked a bit of speed and I finished 11th”, says Miguel.
After the end of the Champions of the Future, Miguel Costa turns his attention to the last round of the European Karting Championship, also scheduled for Cremona. The stage will be held between July 27th and 30th, and the driver seeks to end the continental competition in the top-10. “Guel” currently stands in ninth position among 85 competitors.
