Miguel Ethel Costa was born on February 23, 2009, in Miami, Florida. From an early age, motorsport became his passion, and his journey into racing began at just three years old when he transitioned from an electric car to his first real go-kart. His father, an avid motorsport fan, played a key role in igniting this passion, often waking him up early to watch Formula 1 races live. This early exposure to the world of racing would lay the foundation for a future in motorsport.

As he grew, so did his ambition. Costa quickly made a name for himself in local karting events, progressing through the ranks from his first kart to a cadet kart in 2013. His skills and talent were undeniable, and in 2015, he finished 3rd in his first Homestead Championship, despite leaving two races early to compete at the more competitive Micro level. By 2016, at just 7 years old, Costa had already achieved significant success, becoming the Micro Champion for both the Fall and Spring Homestead Championships, securing six wins and seven pole positions. That same year, he was also the Vice Champion at the prestigious Rock Cup, earning one win along the way.

Costa continued to impress as he moved up the ranks. In 2017, he became the Vice Champion at the Florida Winter Tour (FWT) Rok, FWT Rotax, and Rok Cup USA, with two wins and two pole positions to his name. His growing reputation led him to Europe in 2018, where he began his karting career in the highly competitive 60 Mini category. Costa’s breakthrough came in 2019 when he became the 60 Mini Italian Karting Champion, battling fiercely against the best drivers in the category. He also showed his international prowess with strong performances in the WSK series.

In 2020, Costa joined the Sauber Karting Team – Kart Republic, a significant step in his career. He quickly established himself as one of the top drivers in the X30 Junior category, and by the end of the year, he was already testing the high-performance OKJ karts, preparing for a new challenge in 2021. Over the next two years, Costa competed in the WSK and CIK FIA European and World Championships in the OKJ category, consistently competing at the front of the field and gaining invaluable experience against some of the best junior karting drivers in the world.

In 2023, Costa made the leap to the OK category, racing in the WSK and CIK FIA Championships first as an official driver for the Sauber Karting Team and later with the Parolin Factory Team. This transition to one of the most competitive karting classes proved to be a defining year for Costa, as he continued to demonstrate his versatility and skill at the highest level.

Looking ahead to 2024, Costa competed in his final season in karting before making the move to car racing. He has competed in the KZ2 category, one of the top karting classes, leaving the his karting career's mark on the WSK, CIK FIA European and World Championships, and the COTF serie

In 2025, Costa will transition to car racing, beginning his career in single-seaters by participating in the Winter Series and the Spanish Formula 4 Championship. With a wealth of experience and a competitive spirit honed through years of karting, Costa is ready to take on the challenge of car racing and is determined to make an impact in the highly competitive world of motorsport, with the ultimate goal of progressing to Formula 1.
